Student Administrator

Job Description 

For the 25/26 academic year, GSU are recruiting for a student administrator to support with various administrative duties across our governance structures.

General Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating meetings
  • Minute taking
  • Creating and sharing agendas
  • Creating and sharing minutes and actions

Previous administrative experience is preferable.

Duties and key responsibilities:

  • Facilitation: You will encourage participation from all attendees, draw out quieter voices, and manage dominant or aggressive participants.
  • Preparation and planning: You will need to request and collate documentation for meeting agendas.
  • Minute taking: You will use active listening skills to capture key points, discussions, decisions, voting outcomes, and action items.
  • Prepare minutes: You will compile the notes into a clear, concise, and formal document, often using a template for consistency.
  • Report and action sharing: You will ensure the finalised minutes are sent to attendees and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records: You will keep organised, accessible, and confidential records of all meeting minutes for future reference.
  • Follow up: You will ensure that action items assigned during the meeting are documented and can be tracked.

CONDITIONS:

Contract Casual

Hours Zero hours per week. 

Salary £12.21ph + Paid holiday on top of your hourly rate of 12.07% per hour

Notice period One Week

Can be based on any of the three campuses. However, some travel across the three campuses may be required.
